You're invited to BCODN's 2026 Annual General Meeting.
This year's AGM comes at a real moment of transition for the Network. We've been rebuilding — our events are running again and in person, the BCO program's learning materials have been rewritten for the first time in two decades, and the board is reorganizing itself around doing fewer things properly.
The AGM is where we report on the year behind us, elect the board that takes us into the next one, and say plainly where we're heading. We'd like you there.
Agenda
6:00pm — Annual General Meeting
- Call to order and land acknowledgement
- Confirmation of quorum
- Chair's statement — notice, and who may vote
- Approval of the agenda
- Adoption of the rules of order for the meeting
- Introduction of the board
- Approval of the minutes of the 2025 AGM
- President's and Directors' report
- Financial statements for the year ended March 31, 2026, and the 2026/27 budget
- Auditor
- Annual reports — communications, programming, and the BCO Committee
- Election of Directors (approx. 7:10pm)
- Election of Officers — President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, elected separately from among the Directors just elected (approx. 7:15pm)
- New business
7:30pm — Adjournment
If you can only join for part of the evening, the elections are the part to be there for. They begin around 7:10pm and the officer positions are voted on one at a time.
Only business described in the notice of this meeting, or arising from the Directors' report, can be transacted on the day. If there is something you want the membership to consider, write to info@bcodn.org before the 17th so it can be properly noticed.
Stand for the Board
Have you considered honing your leadership skills with BC's only association focused on organization development?
Under our bylaws, the officer positions are elected annually and are open at every AGM:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
There is also room on the board for additional Directors who want to help the Network deliver on its priorities for the year ahead.
We welcome new, emerging and experienced OD practitioners, and business professionals who bring a diversity of interests and knowledge areas. You do not need decades of experience to contribute here — you need to want to build something, and to follow through on what you take on.
A word about what this board actually is. It is a working board. Directors are expected to attend events, own what they commit to, and report on it. That's a real ask, and we'd rather be straight about it up front than have you discover it in November. If that sounds like the kind of contribution you're looking for, we'd genuinely like to hear from you.

Nomination process
Only current BCODN members may be nominated. Not a member? Join here.
To nominate a colleague or yourself, please submit:
- Your name and contact information
- Your nominee's name and contact information
- A brief professional biography of the nominee (the first 200 words will be published), and why they would make a strong Director
- A digital photo (which will be published)
Send nominations to info@bcodn.org by 12:00pm on Friday, September 11, 2026.
That date is so we can circulate your bio and photo to the membership with the AGM package. It is our deadline, not a bar: under our bylaws, nominations may also be made from the floor at the meeting itself, right up to the moment each election is called.

One specific ask: BCO mentors
The Building Community Organizations (BCO) program pairs emerging OD practitioners with non-profits across BC, under the guidance of an experienced mentor. It has served more than 50 community organizations, and its learning materials have just been rebuilt from the ground up.
For the coming cycle we are looking for experienced practitioners willing to mentor — including one senior person to support the mentor group itself. It's a defined, time-bounded contribution, and it is the single thing that most determines whether this year's cohort runs.

Is your membership current?
A note worth making plainly: when we moved platforms, our automated renewal reminders stopped going out. If you thought you were a member and haven't heard from us in a while, that's very likely our error rather than a decision you made.
Membership includes:
- Learning events hosted by us and our partner organizations
- Mentoring and mentorship through BCO
- Professional development opportunities
- Community connection events
- A vote at this AGM
If your membership lapsed through our reminder gap and you'd like to vote on September 17, get in touch and we'll sort it out. We will apply one rule to everyone in that position, and the Chair will state it at the meeting before any vote is taken.
Registration is free, and it is how you receive the Zoom link and the AGM package — agenda, financial statements, annual reports and candidate bios — which goes out on Monday, September 14.
