A Fall 2011 BCO Project is ready for your Autumn energy!
The Building Community Organization Committee is seeking consultants and mentor who are interested in working with an organization devoted to environmental sustainability and social justice. The organization is familiar with our work having been a past client and was so pleased they have engaged with us again. Additionally, the organization has recently engaged with someone to help create a mind map for the initiative discussed below and connected with a project management professional. This is an organization that is good at working on itself.
The Work: The organization is bringing together many initiatives under one umbrella and requires some help facilitating a session to create an action plan for the initiative. The work will require some priority setting and could possibly result in some roles and responsibilities changing – a possibility that may come as a surprise to some members of the organization. Specifically the Executive Director is interested in having members in an advisory body move into more implementation roles. The ED is hopeful that an action planning session with the advisory body will elicit desire to implement the plan they help co-create. This is where it will get interesting for the consultant team.
The Skills: Facilitation skills will be useful to have for this project and the ability to help individuals move from abstract concepts to concrete actions. This project will probably help develop skills of getting the unsaid, said, and the ability to help an organization prioritize.
The Timeline: The organization is looking to begin working with a client team in early October and the project is expected to conclude around mid-December.
