Laura has over ten years experience as an international consultant in organization
development. She was a change management consultant with Andersen Consulting
and a regional OD consultant with Intel Corporation. Laura completed her Masters
in Organization Development at Pepperdine University in California. Laura’s
organization consulting experience has taken her across Asia, North America
and South America. As a result, she has developed and delivered consulting
services and materials within a variety of cultures.

In Vancouver, a city that celebrates diversity, we often find ourselves in
organizational situations where “multi-cultural intelligence” is a useful competency.
It is challenging for organizations and consultants to incorporate cultural
differences into their change and development efforts, but overlooking these
factors can mean the difference between success and failure in engaging stakeholders.
Individual employee differences in participation level, conflict avoidance,
and communication style, to name but a few behaviours, may be incorrectly interpreted
when seen through a single cultural filter.

This presentation and discussion will be of interest to HR professionals,
organization and management consultants, coaches, or managers who seek to improve
their cross-cultural awareness and skills.

Thank you,
BCODN Steering Committee
