WHAT IS APPRECIATIVE INQUIRY?

Appreciative Inquiry is a process that brings groups of any size together
and invites people to learn and transform themselves, their relationships,
their organizations, and communities through personal stories of accomplishment
and aspiration. It begins with an affirmative interview to identify the best
of “what is” in order to pursue dreams and possibilities of “what could be.”

AI enables a fundamental shift toward cooperation, equality of voice, high
participation as daily practices, growing the capacity of organizations and
communities to accomplish what is most important to them.

Created in 1987 by David Cooperrider and colleagues at Case Western Reserve
University, AI has been used literally all over the world. Applications range
from transforming businesses to empowering women in rural communities of Nepal.

What makes AI work and how can it work for you?

This interactive and experiential one day workshop promises to open new possibilities
for you and your organization – a fun and informal workshop that will introduce
you to the magic of AI and some practical ways to use it. The workshop will
emphasize both theory and methods and will maximize a collegial interchange
of ideas.

Participants will learn core concepts that underlie AI practice. They will
experience the AI process and learn key patterns that guide an AI process.
