A Future Search for BC OD Network – inspired by Marvin Weisbord
Event open only to BCODN members.
Facilitated by Paul Peel, Psychologist, Gottman Certified Couples’ Therapist, and BC ODN Member. Assisted by Oxana Pavlenko, Family Counsellor and Gottman Certified Educator. After learning the Future Search Model from Marvin Weisbord in the late 1980’s, Paul began to use the model in family business, government, and educational environments. Both Paul and Oxana attended the ODN workshop with Marvin and Sandra Janoff in the Fall of 2009.

BCODN Spring Networking Event
Join us as we celebrate the hard work and creativity at work in our BCO. Participating project consultants and mentors will be on hand to discuss their methodologies and lessons learned!
The Building Community Organizations(BCO) program was created as a way for members to enhance their professional practice by “giving back” their services to both the OD community and BC based volunteer organizations.
In this networking and poster session, we have an opportunity to explore what we have learned so far through BCO. Learn how the BCO has affected the development of a deeper “community of practice” in BCODN.
Come and meet other OD professions. Let’s talk about what we can create both on an individual and network level to make the BCO initiative even more worthwhile!
Details and registration:

We are taking more time to organize this event.
Tentatively, it will be rescheduled to the fall of 2010. Members and friends will be contacted.
Join our panelists for this interactive evening, when we will turn our professional assumptions “on their head.”
Through the use of case studies and provocative questions we’ll explore how professional orientations such as coach, OD consultant or facilitator can both foster and block innovation and creative perspectives. Bring your willingness to think “outside of your profession” and engage in this lively discussion with members from BCODN, the International Coach Federation and the International Society for Performance Improvement.
Are you tired of teaching the same old stuff? Are your students/clients bored due to dry material? Have you thought of using laughter to perk them up? Come and learn from Jeannie Magenta about the benefits of laughter, and how to use it easily and effectively in your next series of workshops or in your work with clients.

The latest BCODN survey identified team processing and functioning as the top priority for programs in this coming year. Presented by Brian Fraser of Jazzthink, this session will engage participants in discovering what qualities of great teamwork can be seen in a jazz performance, how the wisdom in the room stacks up against the best of the research and reflection in the field, and what practical steps can be taken in the workplace to nurture high-functioning teams.
